Overview
Poultry Hub is a bilingual (English / Urdu) app that publishes daily poultry market rates — chicken, meat, and eggs — by city. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled. It applies to the public app and to the admin panel used by our internal team to publish rates and news.

Data we collect
What we collect depends on whether you're using the public app or the admin panel.
Everyone who opens the app
On first launch, the app signs you in anonymously in the background (via Firebase Authentication) so we can tell installs apart — this does not involve a name, email, or phone number. We store a small record per install in our database (Cloud Firestore):

Admin panel users only
Admin access requires phone number + one-time-passcode (OTP) sign-in via Firebase Phone Authentication, and only phone numbers on an internal allow-list can reach the admin panel. If you're an admin, we additionally store:
- Your phone number, in E.164 format, used solely to authenticate you and identify who made a given rate/news edit.
Data we don't collect
We do not ask for or store your name, email address, precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or payment information. The app has no in-app purchases.
How we use it
- Operating the app: showing rates and news for your selected city, remembering your language and theme preference.
- Sending you a push notification when a rate you follow is updated (only if you've granted notification permission).
- Internal usage counts (how many installs are active), visible only to admins as a read-only list — no personal profile is built from this.
- Securing the admin panel, so only allow-listed phone numbers can publish rates or news.
Third-party services
The app is built on Google's Firebase platform. Data described above is processed and stored using these Firebase/Google services, each governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

Advertising
The public app displays ads served by Google AdMob to support free access to the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID) and use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can review or reset your advertising identifier, and opt out of personalized advertising, in your device's settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads; iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).
Retention & security
Rate, news, and city data is retained indefinitely as historical market data (it powers the price-trend graphs). Anonymous install records are kept for as long as the app is installed. Access to the admin panel and its underlying database is restricted by Firestore security rules and a phone-number allow-list; only allow-listed admins can read or write rate and news data.
Your choices
- Notifications: you can disable them any time in your device's app notification settings.
- Language: switch between English and Urdu in the app's Settings tab at any time.
- Deletion: to request deletion of your install's anonymous record or, if you're an admin, your account, contact us below.
Children's privacy
Poultry Hub is a general-audience market-information app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
